Spring has sprung and the kids want to celebrate all things Easter. Here’s an update on a few of the best Easter events.

Easter Monday: A Washington Family Tradition

Hosted by the National Zoo and Friends of the National Zoo, “Easter Monday” is a lively event that is sure to entertain the kids and offer a little something for everyone in the family. Along with an Easter egg hunt and a visit from the Easter Panda, there will be fun field games that will appeal to older children. This action-packed day will be topped-off with prizes, live entertainment, animal demonstrations, and other family-focused activities. A good time is sure to be had by all.

This free annual event is the hottest ticket in town. The White House Easter Egg Roll is a sought-after shindig that kicks-off the spring season. Each year an online lottery determines the more than 35,000 people who attend. Not only will there be an Easter egg hunt, but also an egg roll as well featuring five souvenir eggs. Along with live music, there will also be storytelling, cooking demonstrations, and sports and fitness zones to help encourage children to be active and healthy—two objectives of First Lady Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative. It all takes place on the South Lawn of the White House.

Here’s another Easter event that’s jam-packed with entertainment and fun. Sponsored by Baltimore-based chocolatier Mary Sue Candies, the Bunny BonanZoo is an annual local tradition at The Maryland Zoo that offers live entertainment including an interactive puppet show, games, crafts, and—of course—Easter egg hunts. Kids can redeem their found eggs for tasty chocolate ones by Mary Sue Candies. The Bunny BonanZoo is free with zoo admission.

Let the kids have a ton of fun hunting for candy and eggs during the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Cherry Hill Park. The little tykes can enjoy a day full of sun and sweets. They can also have their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny. Don’t worry parents, there’s free parking at the Community Center and two free parking garages that are available to the public, as well as side street parking so that you can enjoy a hassle-free outing.

Both children and their parents will enjoy Carroll County Farmers Market’s Easter Show. The kiddies will be thrilled by a visit from the Easter Bunny, who will pass out candy while parents can indulge in a bevy of their own goodies like homemade jams, jellies, honey, and baked goods. They can even purchase flowers, plants for the garden, and handmade arts and crafts. Breakfast and lunch will be available while visitors are entertained with the sounds of acoustic performances.
