LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — Christians in Northwest Washington gathered together today to celebrate the anniversary of what they believe is the resurrection of Jesus Christ at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle.
Archbishop of Washington, Cardinal Donald Wuerl, presided over the crowd at Easter mass at the cathedral. There were so many in attendance that it spilled out onto the front steps.
While it is a time for celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, some Christians also like to celebrate that Easter is the mark of the end of Lent.
